Four Highway Patrol vehicles flagged-off in Tripura

Agartala, Aug 22: With an aim to reduce number of road accident cases and highway crimes, Tripura government has introduced four Highway Patrol vehicles in Agartala- Sabroom route.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha along with Director General of Police Amitabh Ranjan flagged-off the four vehicles in presence of other officials.
The four vehicles equipped with breath analyzers and speed camera would help identify the intoxicated drivers and reduce the road accidents. Besides, the four vehicles would also enhance security on highway and ensure prompt response from police in case of any problem.
The newly-introduced service would cover the 130 km national highway from Agartala to Sabroom in four districts 24x7.
Addressing the programme, the Chief Minister said a plan is in the pipeline to introduce such highway patrol vehicles up to Dharmanagar. He lauded the DGP and the police administration for this initiative.
