Fratricide: Two BSF jawans found shot dead, one injured in Tripura

Agartala, Sept 23: In a bizzare incident, two BSF troopers were found shot dead and another jawan was injured at Silachari border area in Tripura's Gomati district.

Initial reports coming from sources that it was an incident of fratricide, occurred around 5.30 pm of Thursday evening.

The deceased Border guards- Havildar Satbir Singh and Constable Pratap Singh were posted at 20-Bn BSF.

According to reports, both were on patrol duty along the Indo-Bangla border. There was an altercation between them for some reasons. At one point of time, constable Pratap Singh pulled the trigger from his service rifle killing Havildar Satbir Singh on the spot He then reached the camp and rained bullets randomly.

When Sub-Inspector Ram Kumar Singh came out and tried to stop Pratap Singh and asked him to surrender his weapon, he was also shot and seriously injured.

Noticing the incident, Abhimanyu Yadav, who was on santry duty, then shot Pratap dead on the spot since he was in no mood to surrender the rifle.

According to BSF sources, the injured BSF SI was taken to Agartala for treatment soon after the incident. Senior police officers and BSF officials visited the spot.
