G20 Science Event to be held in Tripura on April 3-4, govt gears up preparation

Agartala, Mar 22: Tripura is going to host G20 Science Event on April 3 and 4 next, with the participation of delegates from various countries.
The state government has geared up its preparations for the mega event to be held at the conference hall of Hapania international fair ground, Agartala.
Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha is personally keeping an eye on the overall preparedness. This will be the first big event to be held in the state since formation of the BJP-IPFT government 2.0.
In view of the safety and security of the international delegates, a mock exercise and seminar of National Disaster Management Authority on Incident Response System, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear disasters was held on Wednesday at the venue with the participation of representatives from West Tripura and Sepahijala district administration.
During the programme, NDMA State Project Officer Dr. Sharat Kumar Das reviewed various aspects of the upcoming event.
Meanwhile, the G20 delegates are scheduled to visit Neermahal, one of the key tourist spots in Tripura, on April 4 next.
MLA Nalchar Kishore Barman along with the officials of Tourism department and other officers on Wednesday inspected the preparations at Neermahal.
They also held a meeting at the conference hall of the Melaghar Municipal Council to discuss ghe preparations.
On the other hand, the Tripura government has taken special initiatives to make the 41st Agartala Book Fair attractive in view of the G20 event.
The Book Fair will be held at Hapania international fair ground from March 24 to April 5 next with the theme "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam".
