Ganda Twisa returning to normal life: Govt announces financial assistance

Agartala, July 16: The Tripura Government on Tuesday announced financial assistance in response to recent Ganda Twisa violence, bringing a major relief to the affected families.
Besides, the violence-hit areas are returning to normal life, with the local markets functioned normally on Tuesday.
Dr. Manik Saha-led government swiftly approved the financial assistance covering the deceased and affected families.
According to a government press release, the state will provide Rs. 6 lakh to Khargram Reang, the father of deceased-Parameswar Reang. Meanwhile, the youth's death was the source of the ethnic tension on the night of July 12.
Additionally, the state government has allocated Rs. 1.54 crore to support 165 families impacted by the violence. The Dhalai district administration has already started distributing interim relief of Rs. 25,000 to each affected family.
The total assessment of the damage, which includes houses, shops, and other properties, is still underway. The remaining amount will be provided once the assessment report is finalized.
In the meantime, the state government is providing all necessary facilities, including health camp, to those currently staying in the relief camp.
On Tuesday, the District Magistrate and the Superintendent of Police, Dhalai district took ground reports of Ganda Twisa to evaluate the latest situation. The district administration reported that Ganda Twisa is fast returning to normal life.
