Agartala, Sept 13: Finally, Joint Recruitment Board, Tripura (JRBT) on Wednesday released the final merit list of examination for recruitment in Group-C posts, recommending 1980 candidates
The results announced by the JRBT brought a wave of happiness among the successful job aspirants ahead of Durga Puja.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha congratulated all the aspirants, who qualified the JRBT-conducted examination for Group-C post.
Meanwhile, Dr. Manik Saha-led cabinet’s decision to make the PRTC mandatory for government jobs played a significant role in giving more opportunity to the state’s youths.
The written examination was held and the interview was conducted for 2410 Group-C posts. The JRBT could not make any recommendation for 430 posts including 37 PwD and 34 Ex-Service Man due to non-availability of suitable/ eligible candidates. The figure included 199 posts in the UR category, 153 in ST category and 78 in SC category.
As per the notification, all the certificates of the recommended candidates will be verified by the concerned departments as per terms and conditions of eligibility before issuing offer or appointment.
The candidates, who are in the JRBT merit list for Group-C posts, also included some outsiders since the domicile certificate was not mandatory during the time of the interview. Some aspirants from the 10,323 terminated teacher’s groups had been recommended for the job based on their merits.
Meanwhile, while many of the successful candidates extended gratitude to Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha for preparing the merit list with transparency, there was mixed response among the aspirants following the JRBT results. Some of the candidates, who failed to secure a position in the merit list, questioned the recommendation for outside candidates.
According to another section of the aspirants, the merit list remained confusing—there was no clue about how the total marks were carried in the merit list. They also smelled something wrong behind the non-availability of eligible candidates for 430 posts.
“The examination and interview were conducted for 2410 Group-C posts. Over 7000 aspirants out of around 1 lakh enrolled candidates had qualified the written examination. They had qualified the written examinations based on merits. We don’t know about the marks given in the viva-voce whereas as per the merit list there was no suitable/ eligible candidate for 430 posts; it sounded something wrong,” an aspirant said.
