Govt working to build Digital Tripura in line with PM’s vision: Finance Minister

Agartala, Sept 8: The Tripura government is taking a series of initiatives to deliver government services to citizens in a faster, more transparent and technology-driven manner, Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy said on Tuesday.

The minister made the statement while inaugurating the NextGen HRMS (Human Resource Management System) at Pragya Bhavan in Agartala.

Singha Roy said the new digital platform would modernise government functioning while improving transparency and efficiency in the delivery of citizen services.

He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been implementing various initiatives to realise the vision of a Digital India, and Tripura is also working towards building a “Digital Tripura” by following the same path.

The Finance Minister pointed out that the e-Office system has already been introduced across all government departments in the state.

Explaining the benefits of NextGen HRMS, he said the entire service record of a government employee—from the first day of appointment until retirement—would be digitally maintained through the system.

The system is expected to make the processing of retirement and pension-related matters faster and more accurate. Employees will also be able to apply for leave online, with the details automatically recorded in their digital service books.

Singha Roy congratulated officials and employees of the Finance Department for undertaking the initiative.

During the programme, the Finance Minister and other dignitaries also launched the New Pension Proposal Rules Book, DDO Handbook and several modules under the new digital system.

Finance Department Secretary Dr Prashant Kumar Goel spoke about the importance of digital service management and said the NextGen HRMS would ensure that service-related information of government employees is securely maintained.
Additional Secretary of the Finance Department Dr Akinchan Sarkar delivered the welcome address.

Principal Accountant General Shailendra Vikram Singh, Accountant General Ranendra Sarkar and Senior Deputy Accountant General Tanushree Biswas were among those present at the programme.

An informative documentary on the NextGen HRMS was also screened during the event. Officials from various government departments, along with officers and employees of the Finance Department and the National Informatics Centre (NIC), attended the programme.
