Gurukul Agartala English Medium School at Kathaltali in the outskirts of Agartala became the centre of a vibrant and purposeful summer camp, organized in collaboration with the Lions Club of Agartala Metro on Monday.
The day-long event focused on health, wellness, and creative engagement for young learners.
One of the major highlights of the camp was a free dental screening session led by Dr. Soham Bhaumik, a dedicated member of the Lions Club of Agartala Metro. Sixty students underwent dental check-ups, promoting awareness about oral hygiene from an early age.
The camp was packed with engaging activities including yoga sessions, meditation, music, and various indoor and outdoor games. A total of 60 students along with 12 teachers took part, making the event lively and interactive.
To further promote physical activity and team spirit, the Lions Club of Agartala Metro gifted sports equipment such as cricket kits, footballs, and board games. Nutritious snacks were also distributed among the children to add to the festive spirit of the day.
Adding a green touch to the camp, a tree plantation drive was also carried out on the school campus. Fifteen saplings were planted, reflecting the collective commitment towards environmental sustainability.
The summer camp not only provided a much-needed break from routine but also fostered a spirit of community engagement, health awareness, and environmental consciousness among the students, said Ashis Das, secretary of the Lions Club of Agartala.
