'Hawai Safar' to boost Tripura tourism soon

Agartala, Jan 01: If everything goes as per the plan, 'Hawai Safar' will soon be made available for the tourists to Narkelkunja and Unakoti in Tripura.
Secretary of Tourism department Uttam Kumar Chakma in a press conference said the Tripura government has already taken initiatives for introducing ‘Hawai Safar’ (helicopter service) to Narkelkunja and Unakoti, according to a government press release.
He said, the helicopter service has been planned for travelling convenience of the national and international tourists.
The fare per person has been fixed at Rs. 2,300 for Narkelkunja and Rs. 2,500 for Unakoti. The tours would be conducted with minimum four passengers, he said.
Meanwhile, a proposal was sent by the Transport Department of Tripura to the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation for construction of six heliports in the state under 'Heli Tourism Policy'.
The six places proposed for construction of heliports are- Matabari in Udaipur, Narikelkunja in Dumbur Nagar, Vanghmun in Jampui, Raipasha in Ambassa, Deb bari in Amarpur and Maicherra in Belonia, the Transport secretary said.
