Health services improved in government hospitals, says Tripura CM

Agartala, Aug 18: The healthcare service in the government hospitals across Tripura has improved, said Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha.

After inaugurating a Trauma Centre, Nutrition Rehabilitation Centre, Paediatric Ward and Covid ICU at Dhalai District Hospital (Kulai), Dr. Saha said, the number of refer cases has come down following the improvement in health services.

Addressing the programme, the Chief Minister also stressed on the need of handling the patients with a positive approach. He said, the people come to any hospital when they fall ill.

His speech also included two major announcements—upgradation of all Prima Health Centres (PHCs) to Health and Wellness Centres to strengthen the rural healthcare system and setting up of another Medical College at Ambassa in Dhalai district. 

Dr. Saha also spoke on the major achievements of the government in the state’s health sector.
 
Among the notables, MLA Parimal Debbarma, secretary of Health and Family Welfare department Debashis Basu, director Dr. Subhashis Debbarma, District Magistrate, Dhalai- Govekar Mayur Ratilal and SP Dhalai Ramesh Yadav were present in the programme.

Meanwhile, as part of his visit to Dhalai district, the Chief Minister also inaugurated newly-constructed buildings of two schools-- Kamalpur Government English Medium Higher Secondary School and Bamancherra English Medium Higher Secondary School at Kamalpur sub-division on Thursday.
 
Food minister Manoj Kanti Deb, MLA Parimal Debbarma, MLA Swapna Das (Paul) and District Magistrate, Dhalai- Govekar Mayur Ratilal were present in both the inaugural ceremonies.
