Agartala, Jan 09: Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday said that he would apply Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha's technique on hiking social pension and releasing DA for the employees.
Addressing a party rally in Killa under Gomati district of Tripura, the Assam Chief Minister praised the Tripura government for its development model.
Referring to the Tripura government's decisions on hike in social allowance to Rs. 2000 and 12 percent DA for the government employees, he said, "I will later learn from Manik Da how he hiked the social allowance and released this much of DA. I will then apply the same technique in Assam."
He said, Tripura is now on the fast track development. Despite Covid pandemic for two years, Tripura government implemented various development plans. Tripura is the no-1 state in the North East in terms of the works done, he commented.
Sarma was visibly overwhelmed by the response of the people in Udaipur town during BJP's Jana Vishwas Yatra, a campaign aimed at making the public aware of various developmental works taken by the government in the past five years.
"The huge show of support convinced me about the people's belief in Adarniya PM Shri Narendra Modi ji’s dream of transforming Tripura into one of the most progressive States in India," Sarma commented in a social media post.
He also said, the CPM's limited and insignificant existence in the country is proof that people have rejected the party whereas Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been widely embraced for its people-centric welfare initiatives.
"Tripura and Assam have always received continuous support from Govt of India under the leadership of Hon'ble PM Shri Narendra Modi ji, who stood like a shield to protect us even in the most difficult times," Sarma said.
He appealed to the people of Tripura to make BJP with in the ensuing Assembly elections for continuation of the development activities.
After the rally, he then participated in a colorful road show (Ratha Yatra) from Agriculture Chowmuhani in Killa to R.K. Pur. He was accompanied by Tripura CM Dr. Manik Saha, BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharjee and other leaders.
