HM Amit Shah arriving in Tripura on 2-day visit to review border management

Agartala, June 3: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to arrive in Tripura on a two-day tour beginning June 4, during which he is will review border security.
According to official sources, Shah will arrive in the state after attending the 73rd Plenary Session of the North Eastern Council in Shillong.
During his stay, the Union Home Minister is scheduled to hold discussions with senior officials on various issues concerning border security and management.
The Union Home Minister is also expected to visit border areas and interact with officials of the Border Security Force to review ongoing measures aimed at strengthening surveillance, preventing cross-border crimes and enhancing security infrastructure.
A major highlight of the visit will be his participation in the foundation stone laying and Bhumi Pujan ceremony for the upcoming Taj Pushpabanta Palace Hotel project in Agartala.
The heritage hospitality project is being developed through a partnership between the Tripura government and Indian Hotels Company Limited, a part of the Tata group. The project is expected to significantly boost tourism and create new economic opportunities in the state.
Chief Minister Manik Saha said the Home Minister's visit reflects the Centre's continued focus on Tripura's development and strategic importance.
He noted that discussions are likely to cover modern border management initiatives, including the adoption of advanced technology to strengthen security along the international boundary.
With preparations in full swing, state authorities have intensified logistical and security arrangements ahead of the high-profile visit.
Officials said the visit is expected to further accelerate development initiatives while reinforcing coordination between the Centre and the state on security-related matters.
