HM Amit Shah lays foundation stone for heritage hotel project in Agartala

Agartala, June 5: In a landmark step towards the development of Tripura's tourism sector, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday performed the Bhumi Pujan and laid the foundation stone for the upcoming Taj Pushpabanta Palace Hotel, a heritage hotel, in Agartala.

The ceremony was attended by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, members of the State Cabinet, Members of Parliament, MLAs, senior government officials, and other guests.

The event commenced with the Union Home Minister participating in the traditional Bhoomi Pujan rituals accompanied by Vedic chants. Later, in the presence of dignitaries and invited guests, he unveiled the foundation plaque for the Taj Pushpabanta Palace Hotel project.

During the concluding part of the programme, the Chief Minister felicitated the Union Home Minister with a replica of the revered Tripurasundari Temple.

On behalf of Indian Hotels Company Limited, CEO Puneet Chhatwal extended greetings and appreciation to the Union Home Minister. A short documentary highlighting the features and vision of the Taj Pushpabanta Palace Hotel was also screened during the event.

According to officials, the luxury hotel will feature 89 standard rooms, six executive rooms, five executive suites, and one presidential villa. The property will also include a banquet block, ballroom, meeting halls, restaurants, a swimming pool, and other modern hospitality facilities.

The project is expected to significantly boost Tripura’s tourism infrastructure, attract high-end visitors, and create new opportunities for economic growth and employment in the state.
