Agartala, May 25: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit Tripura on June 5 to review border security management.
Sources said the visit will focus on assessing security preparedness, border infrastructure, and surveillance arrangements along the Indo-Bangladesh border in Tripura.
Senior officials of the Border Security Force (BSF) and the Ministry of Home Affairs are expected to brief the Home Minister on the prevailing situation and ongoing measures to strengthen border management.
Tripura, which shares an 856-km international border with Bangladesh, remains a strategically significant state in the country’s border security framework.
The review is expected to cover fencing projects, vulnerable stretches, and operational challenges faced by security agencies guarding the frontier.
Following his Tripura visit, Shah is also expected to travel to West Bengal later in June to conduct a similar assessment of security arrangements.
The Home Minister’s Tripura tour forms part of a series of border inspections across different states.
