Agartala, Sept 10: Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb finally broke his silence on the recent political violence in some parts of the state allegedly unleashed by CPI-M.
In a series of tweets, Deb said Tripura saw all-round peace and prosperity with improvements in law and order situation since formation of BJP-IPFT government but the CPI-M is now trying to plunge Tripura into lawlessness to regain lost political ground.
He said several BJP workers were injured and hospitalized as Opposition Leader Manik Sarkar led a mob of drug mafias and instigated them to attack the BJP Karyakartas in Sonamura on September 6 last.

"On 6th Sep, Former CM Manik Sarkar, led a mob of drug mafias and instigated them to attack BJP workers in Sonamura. Several BJP workers were severely injured and a few are still fighting for life in GB hospital. This has been the political modus operandi mastered by CPM", Deb tweeted.
The Chief Minister also reminded the CPI-M that the people of new Tripura would not such political violence anyone. He cautioned that the miscreants involved in such attacks would be identified and punished as per law.

"I wish to remind the CPM that in our New Tripura such violent political behaviour will not be tolerated by its people. It will be my utmost endeavour to identify and punish each miscreant as per law. Peace is and will be a non negotiable tenet of BJP led government," Deb said in a seperate tweet.
In his reaction on the recent attack on the office of Pratibadi Kalam newspaper, Deb assured that the attackers would be identified and speedy justice would be ensured.
"I have also heard disturbing reports of an attack on the office of a media outlet. Media is fourth pillar of our democracy and should be respected by all. We will identify those behind the attack & ensure speedy justice. I stand with all my media friends in solidarity," Deb tweeted.
