Indian Army’s Agniveer recruitment rally in Agartala from Oct 13

Agartala, Oct 11: A five-day Agniveer recruitment rally will be held at Dasarath Deb State Sports Complex in Badharghat, Agartala, from October 13 to 17, 2026, with a record 4,885 candidates registering for the recruitment process, marking a 92 per cent increase over last year.
The rally will be conducted under the supervision of the Army Recruiting Office (ARO), Silchar, with support from the civil administration of Agartala and various Army units. Of the registered candidates, 1,203 have been shortlisted to participate in the rally, representing a 62 per cent increase compared to the previous year.
Candidates from all districts of Tripura will undergo physical fitness tests, medical examinations and document verification during the five-day recruitment drive. The physical fitness assessment will include a 1.6-km run, pull-ups, a nine-foot ditch jump and a zigzag balance test, followed by physical measurement checks.
The Indian Army has already informed the shortlisted candidates through their registered email addresses. Admit cards required for participation in this stage of the physical fitness assessment have also been sent to them.
The Army reiterated its commitment to ensuring a transparent and merit-based recruitment process under the Agnipath scheme. All shortlisted Agniveer candidates have been instructed to report to Dasarath Deb State Sports Complex in Badharghat for the second phase of the recruitment process.
Necessary arrangements have been made by the Agartala civil administration and personnel of the Red Shield Division to ensure the smooth and orderly conduct of the recruitment rally.
