Agartala, Mar 19: The central government has sanctioned Rs. 2000 crore for Tripura under Jal Jeevan Mission- 2023-24, according to Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha.

Taking to tweeter, the Chief Minister mentioned that the fund approved by the Union Ministry of Jal Shakti was more than total Rs. 1930 crore received by Tripura in the last three years.

While sharing the update, the Chief Minister also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister for Jal Shakti Gajendra Singh Shekhawat for sanctioning the fund.

According to Dr. Saha, the fund sanctioned by the centre would ensure piped drinking water to more households.

Meanwhile, a large portion of the rural population was already covered under the Jal Jeevan Mission since the BJP-IPFT government came to power in 2018.
