Agartala, Sept 27: As decided by the Cabinet, as many as 1,267 posts under various departments would soon be filled up in Tripura.
Dr. Manik Saha-led Tripura cabinet in its sitting on Thursday also decided to create 193 posts, Minister for Tourism Sushanta Chowdhury said on Friday.
Under the Youth Affairs and Sports Department, 75 posts for Physical Instructor were created while 352 Pre-Primary Teachers and 125 Librarians would be recruited under the Education department, ensuring further development in the state's education system.
The state government planned to recruit 218 Sub-Inspectors (194 men and 24 women) under the Home Department through the Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC).
The cabinet also approved the creation and recruitment of positions under the Forest Department. This includes two Informatics Research Officers (Group-B, Gazetted), one Senior Informatics Research Officer (Group-A, Gazetted), 167 Forest Guards, and two Surveyors.
Another notable decision was the approval to fill up 254 Group-C posts under the Revenue Department, including 14 Revenue Inspectors, 10 Junior Surveyors, 164 Tehsildars, 37 Mohra, and 29 Amin positions.
Creation of posts and hiring of 12 Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) was also approved by the cabinet. Under the GA(SA) Department, the government planned to recruit 19 drivers and 88 MTS personnel.
The Tribal Welfare Department also received approval for the creation of 13 posts, including eight Lower Division Clerks, three MTS, and two Research Investigators, along with filling up three existing Programmer and Assistant Programmer vacancies. In the Transport Department, 107 posts including 19 drivers and 88 MTS staff will be filled up while the Law (Parliamentary Affairs) Department also received approval for 39 new positions, including two Lower Division Clerks (LDC), eight drivers and 21 Data Entry Operators.
Among other important decisions, the Council of Ministers approved a 5% allowance hike for 2,378 contractual staff under MGNREGA and an increase in the pre-matric scholarship for ST students in Classes VI to VIII from Rs. 400 to Rs. 1,000.
The Cabinet has taken several other decisions, Chowdhury said, adding that the decisions on recruitment in such a scale would generate a huge job opportunity in the state.
