Joint flood relief training conducted by Indian Army, Assam Rifles in Agartala

Agartala, May 20: In a significant step toward boosting disaster management preparedness, the Indian Army and Assam Rifles carried out a two-day joint flood relief training exercise in Tripura's Agartala to improve coordination and emergency response capabilities during flood-related crises.

The exercise was designed to enhance operational efficiency and ensure swift, coordinated relief efforts during natural disasters, particularly flooding, which frequently affects the region, according to a press release.

During the training, personnel from both forces participated in a series of disaster response simulations, rescue operations, and relief management drills. 

The teams practised established standard operating procedures (SOPs) and worked together using common equipment and coordinated operational methods to streamline field execution.

According to official sources, the programme focused on strengthening inter-force cooperation, improving readiness, and building seamless coordination for effective disaster relief deployment whenever required.

The joint exercise also improved interoperability between the Indian Army and Assam Rifles, ensuring that both forces remain prepared to respond efficiently and support civil authorities during emergency situations.
