Launched by Dr. Manik Saha, CM-JAY giving healthcare support to 4.15 lakh families

Agartala, May 26: Chief Minister Jan Arogya Yojana (CMJAY), an ambitious health scheme of Dr. Manik Saha-led government in Tripura, has been giving health guarantee to 4.15 lakh families in the pattern of AB-PMJAY.

The state government has empanelled 167 hospitals including Tripura Medical College, Hapania for implementation of the public healthcare scheme.

An official statement said, the people have been receiving cashless and paperless treatment in the enlisted hospitals under this scheme.

A total of 3,98,975 individuals from 1,79,350  families have already generated CMJAY cards and the further process is underway.

According to official inputs, a total of 4,062 people have so far availed free, cashless and paperless treatment facility from different hospitals involving treatment cost of Rs. 5,05,22,633.

Dr. Manik Saha-led government has launched the ambitious fully state-funded scheme for providing universal healthcare security to all on February 15, this year. The scheme has been designed in the pattern of AB-PMJAY to cover around 4,15,000 families not covered in the Ayushman Bharat Scheme.

Under this scheme, every member of all families has been covered under Health Insurance scheme with amount of Rs. 5 lakhs per family/ per year.

Every single patient at public hospitals are being screened by the Arogya Mitras/ Hospital Staff to ensure admission of the patient either of the scheme means either in PM JAY or CM- JAY and thus to save out – of- pocket expenditure of the patients under distress.

The AB-PMJAY is a largest health insurance scheme of the world introduced by the Government of India for providing cashless, paperless treatment up to Rs. 5 lakhs per family in the year 2018 and implemented in Tripura from 2019 with the objective to reduce catastrophic health expenditure, improve access to quality health care, reduce unmet needs and reduce out of pocket healthcare expenditures of poor and vulnerable families of the Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC) 2011 database of the State.

Under this category, out of 9,76,072 families, total 14,80,000 individuals from more than 5,50,000 families have already been covered under AB-PMJAY.
