Law and order improved in Tripura since 2018, says CM

Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Wednesday said the state saw a significant improvement in the law and order situation since 2018.

The number of crimes drastically reduced in the state following active role of Tripura Police, the Chief Minister said after reviewing the present law and order situation at police headquarters in Agartala.

Speaking to the media, the opposition parties repeatedly claim that the law and order is deteriorating but during the meeting it has been found that the state recorded a sharp decline in the crimes since 2018.

“I am happy over the report on law & order situation presented by the SPs. Tripura is holding good position in the country in terms of law & order,” the Chief Minister commented in a tweet.

He also tweeted, “The state has recorded a sharp decline in the overall crimes since 2018 due to the active role of police. As Tripura is going to polls in the next few months, I have passed an instruction to the police officials so that the law and order doesn't deteriorate.”

The Chief Minister said, the police officials highlighted some issues including shortage of manpower and lack in infrastructure during the review meeting. He assured that the state government would take steps to further strengthen the Tripura Police.

Director General of Police Amitabh Ranjan, senior officials of Police department, police chiefs (SPs) of all eight districts, Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs) and others attended the meeting and exchanged their views.
