Agartala, June 11: Along with police and other security agencies, Tripura Traffic police are also keeping a close vigil on the movement on ganja/ drugs smugglers and getting success as part of Nesha-mukt Tripura campaign.
Being the latest, Traffic police personnel raided an outbound lorry at Teliamura in Khowai district on Thursday. During search, the Traffic police personnel seized a huge consignment of 767 kg dry ganja kept in 53 packets from the lorry.
Teliamura police detained two persons including the lorry driver. But there was another person in the vehicle who had managed to escape the scene. 
During the preliminary interrogation, Teliamura police revealed that the lorry was loaded at Kalabagan petrol pump near Jirania and the ganja consignments were being smuggled to outside the state. Police said that a probe had already been initiated into the matter.
