Agartala, Aug 31: The council of ministers in Tripura led by Dr. Manik Saha cleared major recruitment drive and approved release of final merit list for 2500 Group-D posts by September 7-8, Food minister Sushanta Chowdhury said on Saturday.
Briefing the media on the important cabinet decisions taken a day before, Chowdhury said, 916 vacant posts of constables (men and women) under the Home department would soon be filled up.
He mentioned that an examination for recruitment of 1,000 constables has already been conducted, and the recruitment process would be completed soon. Following this, the recruitment process for the newly approved 916 constable posts would commence.
The cabinet also decided to create and fill up 51 various posts including Engineer, Computer Assistant, Group-C, and Group-D under the Tourism department, he said.
In another important decision, the cabinet approved recruitment of eight Senior Informatics Officers (Group-A) and one Lower Division Clerk (LDC) under the Information and Technology department. The recruitment for the Senior Informatics Officers will be conducted through TPSC, while JRBT will handle the recruitment process for the LDC.
Chowdhury said, the cabinet decisions also included hike in monthly salary of Special Police Officers (SPOs) to Rs. 12,000, benefiting 3,776 SPOs in the state.
Furthermore, the Cabinet has decided to increase the wages of pump operators working in the state's 19 municipal councils and one municipal corporation. As a result, the pump operators associated with Iron Removal Plants (IRP) will now receive a minimum monthly wage of Rs. 7,500, while non-pump operators linked to IRP will receive a minimum wage of Rs. 7,000 per month.
Commenting on social media, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha wrote, “Shaping a better tomorrow! The Council of Ministers takes significant decisions to achieve the vision of Ek Tripura, Shrestha Tripura.”
