Maharaja Bir Bikram University, Tripura, conferred an Honorary Doctorate to Justice T. Amarnath Goud of the High Court of Tripura for his exemplary achievements in judicial service.
He was awarded the Honorary Doctorate during the first convocation ceremony of the MBB University at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan, in the presence of Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu and Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha.
Justice T. Amarnath Goud was born to T. Savitri and T. Krishna on 1 March 1965 in Secunderabad, Telangana.
He was enrolled as an Advocate Bar Council of Andhra Pradesh at Hyderabad on 22nd February 1990 and was later elevated as a Judge in High Court of Telangana in September 2017.
He was transferred from Telangana to the Tripura High Court in October 2021, where he continues to serve.
During all these year he decided cases on Constitution, Civil, Criminal, Service, Tax matters and MACT cases.
Justice T. Amarnath Goud is the recipient of the 'Wonder Book of World Records 2025' for his exceptional services in judicial excellence. That, for the first time, a sitting Judge has received both the Wonder Book of Records honour and an Honorary Doctorate in recognition of his service.
He has decided 92,000 cases, deciding on average 109 cases per day. Presently in Tripura, he is Executive Chairman, State Legal Services Authority, and also performed the duties as the Chief Justice of Tripura High Court for a period of six months.
As a contribution to the judiciary and the justice-dispensing system, the pendency in the Tripura High Court has been reduced to almost minimal, with several instances where the court remained unopened or closed due to no cases being listed on that particular day.
Out of the 92,000 cases, 99.9% have not been appealed, indicating that both clients and advocates received the judgments with due satisfaction. Around 362 of these were reported judgments.
In view of his outstanding contribution to the judiciary, MBB University has conferred the Honorary Doctorate upon Justice T. Amarnath Goud.
