Agartala, Oct 20: As part of Bharatiya Janata Party’s on-going membership drive, Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Sunday visited door to door at his constituency- Bordowali aiming to further boost the drive.

The Chief Minister visibly received overwhelming response from the people. He conducted the membership drive at Booth No- 16 and 17 under Ward No- 20 on Sunday.

Speaking to the media, he said that the BJP’s membership in Tripura already crossed 6 lakh and would soon reach the target of 12 lakh.

“People have faith in BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Many are eager to join the party’s membership drive. So far, more than 6 lakh members have enrolled, out of the 12 lakh target for Tripura,” said Dr. Saha.

As part of the drive, the Chief Minister also engaged in interaction with the people of his assembly constituency and gave them a patience hearing. 

The Chief Minister mentioned that in Bordowali constituency alone, the target was 20,000, and so far, over 12,000 people had already taken the BJP’s membership. He expressed confidence that the number would further increase by the end of the day.

The Chief Minister was accompanied by Mayor and MLA Dipak Majumdar, Corporator Ratna Dutta and other local party leaders.
