Militant attack in Tripura's Dhalai district ahead of I-Day, two BSF men martyred

Agartala, July 03: Two BSF personnel have lost their lives in an encounter with militants in Chawmanu of Dhalai district in Tripura on Tuesday morning.

The militant attack on BSF personnel ahead of the Independence Day has triggered huge sensation.

The martyrs are-- Sub Inspector Bhuru Singh and Constable Raj Kumar of 64-Bn BSF.
According to an official press release, the exchange of fire between BSF patrolling party and some militants took place in bordering area of R.C.Nath Border Out Post under ex-64 Bn BSF.

"During the fierce encounter, 02 BSF personnel namely SI Bhuru Singh & CT Raj Kumar sustained fatal injuries & lost their lives," the press release said.

A massive search operation has been launched in the area to nab the militants.

According to the press release, both the martyrs had fought valiantly before succumbing to their injuries.

Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb strongly condemned the attack on the BSF personnel.

"I strongly condemn the cowardly attack against our BSF personnel in Dhalai. The sacrifices of our brave security personnel shall not go in vain. India stands shoulder to shoulder with the families of our brave martyrs", Deb wrote on his official Facebook handle.
