New Delhi, 21 September : The Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) is gearing up for Special Campaign 6.0, to be conducted from 2nd to 31st October, 2026 under the aegis of the Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances (DARPG). The Campaign seeks to improve cleanliness and citizen experience across Government offices, with this edition placing added emphasis on “effective collection, segregation and disposal of e-waste” in line with the E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022, and on field/outstation offices that directly interface with the public, besides Ministries/Departments, their attached and subordinate offices, Autonomous Bodies and PSUs.

A Preparatory Phase (15–30 September, 2026) is currently underway, during which the Ministry is sensitizing offices down to the field level, and drawing up an action plan for the campaign. The subsequent Implementation Phase (2–31 October, 2026) will drive cleanliness, e-waste disposal, digitisation, record weeding, space management, and clearance of pending MP References, State Government references, Parliamentary Assurances, PMO references, and public grievances.

In Special Campaign 5.0, the Ministry and its organisations — the Office of the Development Commissioner (MSME), Khadi & Village Industries Commission, Coir Board, National Small Industries Corporation, National Institute for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, and Mahatma Gandhi Institute for Rural Industrialisation — reviewed 23,162 physical files, weeded out 4,280 files, freed up 21,045 sq. ft. of office space, and disposed of scrap worth ₹22.89 lakh. Over 81% of MP references and 99% of public grievances were cleared, as part of 1,045 cleanliness campaigns conducted during the period.

Further, pursuant to DARPG’s directions to sustain the momentum generated under Special Campaign 5.0, Ministry directed its organisations to undertake activities on various parameters of the Campaign. As a result, during the period from November, 2025 to September 2026, 22,365 Public Grievances, 4850 Public Grievances Appeals, 226 MP references have been disposed; 626 Physical files and 127 E-files have been weeded out after review and around 1167 sq ft. of space has been freed. Moreover, officers of the Ministry have visited its field offices and institutions, to sensitise the staff, and review their performance in the Campaign.

Building on these gains, the Ministry and its organisations remain committed to carry Special Campaign 6.0 forward with the same rigour, towards cleaner and more responsive governance.
