Agartala, Nov 06: Tripura Police on Sunday arrested a minor boy for killing four persons including three members of his family.

The gruesome incident took place near Durai Shivbari area under Kamalpur police station in Dhalai district on Saturday night, police said.

According to police, the four deceased are- Badal Debnath (70, grandfather), Samita Debnath (32, mother), Suparna Debnath (10, sister) and Rekha Deb (42, relative). They all were hacked to death, police said.

Police said, the bodies were buried in a pit near the courtyard of the house. The accused had fled away after commissioning the crime.

Local police nabbed the accused, reportedly a drug addict, within few hours of the incident. 

A police officer said, “During investigation of the case using scientific and technical aid police detained the accused person within few hours of the incident for further legal action. Investigation is in progress to unearth the motive of the crime.”

Superintendent of Police, Dhalai Ramesh Chandra Yadav and forensic experts visited the place of occurrence on Sunday morning.
