MoS Visits Aspirational Blocks in Tripura

Agartala, Jan 23: Union Minister of State for Jal Shakti, Dr. Raj Bhusan Chowdhury, visited two aspirational blocks- Dashda and Damcherra in northern part of Tripura, focusing on development initiatives aimed at improving the socio-economic status of the people.

During his visit to Dasda on Thursday, the minister participated in several significant events. At Radhamadhavpur Village Council, he attended the ‘Griha Pravesh’ ceremony for a house constructed under the PMAY-G scheme, providing much-needed shelter to the underprivileged.

Later, he visited Uttar Dasda Village Council, where he engaged with members of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) while interacting with beneficiaries of the PM-JANMAN Yojana, emphasizing the government’s commitment to rural empowerment.

At Ashapara Khumpui Village Council, the union minister inaugurated a Deep Tube Well (DTW) scheme, aimed at ensuring better access to water for local residents.

Before concluding his visit, Dr. Chowdhury chaired a review meeting on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) under the Aspirational Block Programme at the Kanchanpur Revenue Dak Bungalow. 

He was joined by MLA Philip Reang, MDC Shailendra Nath, North Tripura District Magistrate Debapriya Bardhan, District Forest Officer Suman Malla, and other officials from various departments.

On the first day of his North Tripura district tour, the minister reviewed development activities at Damcherra block on Wednesday. 

He highlighted the central government’s dedication to uplifting the region’s socio-economic standards through the Aspirational Block Programme.

During his visit, Dr. Chowdhury also inaugurated two water treatment plants at Kaskaubari and Halambari, underscoring the government’s commitment to ensuring clean and safe drinking water in rural areas.

The minister’s visit reflects the central government’s priority in addressing grassroots challenges and accelerating development in aspirational blocks.
