MP helps B’desh national get Covid care in Tripura, return home

Agartala, June 09: MP Pratima Bhowmik has extended her helping hands to a couple from Bangladesh in receiving Covid care in Tripura and returning home post treatment.

The MP, in a social media post, said the Bangladesh couple- Karunasindhu Chowdhury and his wife had gone to Chennai for availing treatment of blood cancer.

In return, they were going to Bangladesh via Tripura. When they reached Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport, the patient had tested positive for coronavirus. They were then sent to isolation where the health condition of the person had deteriorated. He was then shifted to ILS hospital.

“Upon receiving the information, I shifted the patient to GBP hospital and arranged treatment. The day before yesterday, the person tested negative following which I communicated the matter with Bangladesh High Commissioner and helped them return home,” Bhowmik wrote in the post.

The MP thanked all the members in the War Room, doctors who gave treatment to the patient, and all the members of Bangladesh High Commission.
