Museums and Memorials Preserving the Legacy of India's Freedom Movement

New Delhi, 27 July : The details of the Museums, Memorials and interpretation centres dedicated to the Indian freedom movement, freedom fighters and the national independence struggle is given at Annexure.
The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) undertakes maintenance and upgradation of museums and exhibitions relating to India's freedom movement, subject to requirement. ASI organises outreach programmes on important occasions such as Independence Day, Republic Day, World Heritage Day and Week and International Museum Day, in association with local schools, educational institutions and heritage stakeholders, to create awareness among children and youth about the legacy of India's freedom movement.
Further, various programmes/exhibitions are carried out throughout the year as per the events in the museums of the Ministry of Culture to preserve and promote the legacy of India's freedom movement.
