Agartala, Dec 31: A 35-year-old fertilizer trader from Boxanagar in Sepahijala district of Tripura has mysteriously gone missing in Bangladesh, sparking concerns among his family and local authorities.
Suman Miah, a resident of Kakramura area in Kalsimura, had crossed into Bangladesh through the Agartala-Akhaura Integrated Check Post on December 29. His last communication with his wife was in the afternoon of the same day, when he informed her that he was visiting his sister's home in Comilla.
However, on December 30, Suman's wife received a cryptic call from a Bangladeshi mobile number, claiming that Suman was being held by police. Despite frantic efforts to locate him, Suman's family has been unable to establish contact with him or confirm his whereabouts.
The youth's parents have filed a complaint with the Kalamchaura police station, alleging that their son was kidnapped in Bangladesh. They have appealed to the administration to ensure Suman's safe return.
The incident has raised concerns about the safety of Indian nationals traveling to Bangladesh and highlighted the need for increased cooperation between the two countries to prevent such incidents.
