New ADB-funded project TULIP to be implemented in Tripura

Agartala, May 15: A high-level delegation from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) held a meeting with Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha to discuss future urban infrastructure and development plans in the state, including the proposed Tripura Urban Livability Improvement Project (TULIP).
The meeting took place at the TIFT Conference Hall in Agartala, where the Chief Minister reviewed key aspects of the proposed ADB-supported initiative aimed at improving urban services and civic infrastructure.
The ADB delegation was led by Manoj Sharma, Director of Water and Urban Development Sector at ADB. Other members included urban development and project specialists from the bank, along with senior officials from the Tripura government.
Sources said the TULIP project is expected to focus on strengthening urban amenities and public infrastructure in Agartala and adjoining urban areas. The project is likely to be executed jointly by the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC), Tripura Urban Development Authority (TUDA), and the state Jal Board.
Prior to the meeting, the visiting ADB team toured several ongoing development projects under the Agartala Smart City Mission. The delegation inspected the redevelopment work at MBB College Lake and reviewed the Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) project managed by Agartala Smart City Limited (ASCL).
Senior state officials, including representatives from the Urban Development Department, TUDA, and ASCL, accompanied the delegation during the site visits and discussions.
