New Tripura Governor Satyadev Narayan Arya assumes office

Agartala, July 14: Satyadev Narayan Arya assumed office as the Governor of Tripura on Wednesday.
He became the 19th Governor of the state, replacing Ramesh Bais who is now the Governor of Jharkhand.
The new Governor was administered the oath of office by Justice A.K. Kureshi, the Chief Justice of the High Court of Tripura at Durbal Hall of Old Raj Bhavan, Agartala.
Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Verma and many others including the high officials were present in the oath taking ceremony.
After taking the oath, the new Governor exchanged courtesy with the Chief Minister and other dignitaries.

Arya along with his family arrived in the state on Monday last and he was accorded Guard of Honour at the Raj Bhavan. Later he was welcomed by the Chief Minister and others.
After attending the swearing in ceremony, Deb on his official Facebook handle wrote that the state government would keep the process of development continued with the guidance of the Governor.
Meanwhile, outgoing Governor Ramesh Bais left Tripura for Jharkhand on Tuesday followed by a farewell ceremony held at the Raj Bhavan.
