Agartala, July 13: To facilitate the smooth movement of devotees in Kharchi Puja, the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has approved the Tripura government's proposal for running special trains in the state.

The special trains will run in Agartala-Dharmanagar-Agartala and Agartala-Sabroom-Agartala routes so that the people from various parts of the state can easily take part in the Kharchi Puja and Mela, scheduled to commence from Sunday. 
The special trains will operate daily throughout the week-long festival, ensuring convenient travel for the devotees.
On the Agartala-Dharmanagar route, the train will depart from Dharmanagar at 10:30 am and reach Agartala at 02:05 pm. The return journey will see the train leaving Agartala at 05:00 pm and arriving at Dharmanagar at 08:50 pm.
For the Agartala-Sabroom route, the train will leave Agartala at 02:30 pm and reach Sabroom at 04:50 pm. The return train will depart from Sabroom at 05:20 pm and arrive in Agartala at 07:45 pm.
Tripura Minister for Transport Sushanta Chowdhury shared the update on social media and thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for the arrangement of special trains.
