Agartala, Mar 23: Putting an end to weeks of political speculations, Pradyot Kishor Debbarma on Monday made it clear that he will not enter into any alliance with any political formation in the ensuing ADC polls.
Now, it appeared that the long talks of Tipra Motha with BJP have failed to bring any result-- now the BJP, if the indications are true, will take a chance to gain its ground in the ADC areas, proving its strength. After the announcement, the ensuing ADC elections became important for both BJP and Tipra Motha while CPM is also likely to leave no stone unturned.
In a video message, the Tipra Motha founder asserted that his commitment lies solely with the Tiprasa people. He underlined that any political understanding would depend strictly on concrete assurances, implementation of the Tiprasa Accord and guarantee.
My alliance is with my people. Without clear guarantees and execution of the Tiprasa accord or guarantee, there is no question of joining hands with any party, he stated.
Taking a firm stand, Pradyot also conveyed that safeguarding the interests of future generations remains his top priority. He indicated that political compromises would not be made at the cost of long-term community rights.
Expressing confidence ahead of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council elections 2026, he said the strength and unity of the Tiprasa people would play a decisive role in the outcome. The elections are scheduled to be held on April 12.
In an emotional appeal, the regional leader called upon party workers to remain united and disciplined during the election period.
