Agartala, May 18: North Tripura district has emerged as the top-performing district in Tripura under the Financial Inclusion Campaign — SAMRIDDHI 2.0 — conducted by the Tripura Rural Livelihoods Mission (TRLM), marking the second consecutive time the district has secured the top position.
Adding to the district’s success, Kadamtala RD Block was adjudged the Best Block in the entire state for its outstanding performance in driving financial inclusion and strengthening Self Help Group (SHG) credit linkages.
The honours were conferred by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha upon PP L Darlong, Additional District Magistrate (ADM) of North Tripura, and Utpal Das, Block Development Officer (BDO) of Kadamtala RD Block, during the felicitation ceremony held at Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhavan, Agartala.
Officials associated with the campaign said the achievement reflects the deeper impact of financial inclusion in rural communities.
“Financial inclusion is not just a number on a disbursement register. It means an SHG gaining access to institutional credit, a family no longer depending on exploitative lenders during difficult seasons, and capital reaching the hands that truly work with it,” an official remarked.
District Magistrate Chandni Chandran credited the success to the collective efforts of grassroots workers and rural communities across North Tripura.
“This achievement belongs to every TRLM staff member, every Bank Mitra, every SHG member, and every panchayat functionary who pushed loan linkages forward — in the hills, the valleys, and the villages of North Tripura,” she stated.
Meanwhile, under the Samriddhi 2.0 Campaign, South Tripura and Sepahijala districts have secured the second and third positions respectively.
According to TRLM, the leadership, dedication, and coordinated efforts of district teams played a key role in empowering SHG women and ensuring the campaign’s remarkable success across Tripura.
