Oil Companies dismiss fuel shortage rumours, assure smooth supply across Tripura

Agartala, May 23: Amid concerns over possible disruption in fuel availability, major public sector oil companies have clarified that petrol, diesel and cooking gas supplies across Tripura remain normal and there is no cause for panic among consumers.

In a joint statement issued on Saturday, state-run Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs), including Indian Oil Corporation, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited, said the fuel distribution network in the state is functioning smoothly without any interruption.

According to the companies, a PIB press release said, fuel terminals, storage depots, LPG bottling units, petrol pumps and gas distributorships are continuing regular operations, while daily transportation and replenishment activities are being carried out as scheduled to maintain sufficient stock in all districts.

The OMCs also stated that they are jointly monitoring logistics and stock movement to prevent any disruption in supply amid fluctuations and uncertainties in the global energy sector.

Appealing to the public not to indulge in panic buying, the companies urged consumers to continue purchasing fuel and LPG as per normal requirements. They further advised people not to pay attention to rumours or unverified information circulating regarding fuel availability in the state.

The companies reiterated that official updates issued by authorised agencies and oil companies should be treated as the only reliable source of information on petroleum product supply.
