One year as Chief Minister, Dr. Manik Saha greeted by cabinet colleagues, others

Agartala, May 15: On completion of one year as the Chief Minister of Tripura, Dr. Manik Saha was greeted by his cabinet colleagues and others on Tuesday. 

Many of the high officials including the Chief Secretary and party leaders also conveyed greetings to Dr. Manik Saha. Besides, Dr. Saha was flooded with greetings and good wishes on social media platforms over the past two days.

The doctor-turned-politician was first sworn-in as the Chief Minister of Tripura on May 15 last, a day after Biplab Kumar Deb was removed from the Chief Minister’s post.

Dr. Saha, who led the Bharatiya Janata Party to victory in the last assembly polls, began his second innings as the Chief Minister on March 8 last. The oath taking ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP chief J.P. Nadda and other high-profile leaders. 

During his tenure so far, Tripura has witnessed an improvement in the law and order situation. Besides, the last assembly elections were free, fair and peaceful.

Some of major achievements and development initiatives of Dr. Manik Saha-led government included hike in social pension up to Rs. 2000, recruitment of all TET-qualified aspirants, release of 17 percent DA to government employees, establishment of Dental College, launch of ‘Amar Sarkar’ web portal, first S20 event under G20, establishment of smart training centre under Digital Tripura initiative for ensuring smart government, launch of ‘Prati Ghore Sushasan’ campaign and signing of MoU for setting up new medical college in Dhalai district.

Besides, the state has witnessed a huge connectivity development including highway infrastructure under the leadership of Dr. Saha. Recently, Tripura Police as instructed by the Chief Minister constituted a Special Task Force with pan-Tripura jurisdiction to tackle the organized criminal groups. He also took special initiatives to strengthen the fight against drugs.

In a tweet, the Chief Minister mentioned that he would continue to work under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to build ‘Unnata Tripura, Shreshta Tripura’. (with inputs from Tripura Times)
