One year on, ‘Heart of Humanity’ brings smiles on the face of faceless mass

Agartala, July 24: ‘Heart of Humanity’, a philanthropic project of Tripura-based NGO Purvaudaya, has completed one year bringing smiles on the face of faceless mass.

Beginning its journey with the call to ‘let the heart beating continues’, Purvaudaya had opened three ‘Heart of Humanity’ outlets in three major locations- Radhanagar, Shankar Chowmuhani and GB Bazar of Tripura’s capital on July 23 exactly a year ago.

The three outlets registered many people donating foods, cloths and other articles as a strong example of humankind while there were movement of hundreds of needy people to collect the donated items over the year.

With special emphasis on empowering underprivileged people, the NGO- Purvaudaya has also completed its second year of journey.

As the Purvaudaya celebrated the first anniversary of its Heart of Humanity project on Friday, cooked and dry food items, fruits and water bottles were distributed from three outlets among the people in need people by maintaining Covid-appropriate behaviour.

At Shankar Chowmuhani outlet, clothes, sanitizers and masks were distributed among the AMC women cleaning staff. Besides, food items were distributed among the pavement dwellers at Laxminarayan Bari and IGM areas.

Heart of Humanity is a unique citizen-centric project initiated by Purvaudaya as it is the first of its kind in the country. 

This initiative has enhanced the image of Tripura at the national level apart from empowering the poor people. The initiative is also unique in the sense that both the citizens as well as the Members associated with the initiative contribute and donate food every day in the three outlets without fail.

Speaking on the occasion, secretary of Purvadudaya, Niti Deb thanked people for co-operating with the organization in running the Heart of Humanity outlets. She said, this is a service to humanity carried out by the people for the people. 

In a message, she extended gratitude to every member of Purvaudaya and every individual who supported, participated and above all understand the concept of unity, brotherhood and preferred Humanity as a priority above all other differences based on religion, caste, creed and sex.
