PM fulfills his promise of HIRA-model in less than three years, says Tripura CM

Agartala, Aug 02: As promised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, HIRA-model has already been implemented in Tripura in less than three years, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb said during his visit to Khowai district on Monday.

Referring to the development of Highways, a component of the HIRA model, Deb said works of Rs. 7000 crore were already going on in the state for highway development while a plan for works of more Rs. 7000 crore were also in the pipeline. Such highways would connect all the sub-divisions, Deb said.

According to Deb, express train and other services were included in the rail network while the internet service was also improved. Besides, an international airport would soon be seen functioning in the state, he added.

Deb inaugurated the newly-constructed buildings of District Magistrate (DM) office and Superintendent of Police (SP) office as well as a Primary Health Centre at Baijalbari.

The new DM and SP offices have been constructed at the cost of Rs. 2 crore and Baijalbari PHC has been built at an expenditure of around Rs. 1.75 lakh.

Addressing the programme, the Chief Minister spoke on the various development works initiated by the state and the central governments.

Principal Secretary to Health- J.K. Sinha, District Magistrate, Khowai- Smita Mol among others were present in the programmes.

In the meantime, the Chief Minister also took part in Sainik Sammelan at the headquarters of 6th-Bn TSR at Ramchandraghat.
