PM Kisan Samman Nidhi: Tripura farmers to get over Rs. 50.86 cr in 19th installment

Agartala, Feb 21: Minister for Agriculture Ratan Lal Nath announced that the farmers from Tripura would get Rs. 50.86 crore as 19th installement of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi.
He said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi would release the 19th installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi from the Kisan Samman Ceremony in Bhagalpur, Bihar on February 24.
According to Nath, as part of this initiative, over Rs. 22,000 crore will be directly transferred to the bank accounts of more than 9.7 crore farmers across the country through DBT.
In this phase, registered farmers in the state will receive a total of Rs. 50,86,35,000 crore directly in their bank accounts. The installment distribution event will be broadcast live across agricultural sub-divisions and districts, Nath said at a press conference.
At the State Agricultural Research Station in A.D. Nagar, the event will be attended by Food Minister Sushanta Chowdhury.
Speaking to the media, the Agriculture Minister stated that up to the 18th installment, over Rs. 791.75 crore has been directly credited to 2,77,970 state’s farmers’ accounts.
Since the 2018-19 financial year, Rs. 2,142.58 crore has been provided as agricultural loans to 3,81,685 farmers under the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) scheme.
Additionally, between 2018-19 and 2024-25, the government has procured 2,25,365 metric tons of paddy at a minimum support price (MSP) from 1,17,108 farmers.
Furthermore, 1,88,342 farmers in the state have received Soil Health Cards as part of efforts to promote sustainable agriculture.
The Agriculture Minister emphasized that both the central and state governments continue to implement various schemes aimed at doubling farmers’ income and ensuring their welfare.
Secretary to Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare department- Apurba Roy was also present in the press conference.
