Agartala, Nov 21: The officials of TSECL and NEEPCO held an important meeting on Thursday to discuss the rollout and progress of PM Surya Ghar-Muft Bijli Yojana.

The meeting, held at Vidyut Bhavan, was attended by the Managing Director TSECL Biswajit Basu, Finance Director Sarbjit Singh Dogra, General Manager Sapan Debbarma, Nodal Officer of PM Surya Ghar- Muft Bijli Yojana Sujata Das along with representatives of NEEPCO including Director Major General Rajesh Kumar Jha, Head of Power Station Jitendra Lal Das, Chief General Manager (Headquarters) Jiten C Das, DGM (HR) MK Metei among others.

By focusing on awareness, government support and financial cooperation, Prime Minister Surya Ghar-Muft Bijli Yojana aims to bring affordable and sustainable electricity to the common people, fostering program and development in the region, said the officials.

The key discussions and decisions taken at the day’s meeting includes; “Speedy Implementation: Both sides discussed and made several decisions aimed at accelerating the implementation of this important project, which aligns with the vision of the country's esteemed Prime Minister. Awareness Campaign: It was agreed to launch an awareness campaign to inform the common people about the project, its benefits, and the role they can play in its success. Government Assistance and Cooperation: Discussions were held on the various benefits of the project, including government assistance in its implementation, cooperation from banks if necessary, and extensive publicity to make electricity tariffs more accessible”.
