Power service: Bidyut Seva Award presented in Tripura for the first time

Agartala, Aug 20: Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL) has celebrated its first Bidyut Seva Award Ceremony at Sukanta Academy in Agartala on Friday. 

Tripura Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma, Secretary (Power) Kiran Gitte, Managing Director of TSECL Dr. M. S. Kele and other dignitaries were present.

 

In the programme, 63 employees of TSECL were awarded with circle/ unit level awards; of which 11 employees (Executive-05 and Non-executive-06) were conferred Sarvottam Bidyut Seva Award, 24 employees (Executive-11 and Non-executive-13) have been conferred Ati Vishisht Bidyut Seva Award, and 28 employees (Executive-12 and Non executive-16) have been conferred Vishisht Bidyut Seva Award.

Besides, best performing Circle, Division, Sub-division, Section offices and four individual employees for Best Leadership, Best Creative/ Innovative Works, Best Policy Maker, and Best Implementing Officer were also awarded as Managing Director’s Awards (State Level Awards). Moreover, certificates of appreciation were also given to 9 more individuals.

The Deputy Chief Minister highly appreciated the innovative step that TSECL has taken to motivate its employees by introducing the Bidyut Seva Awards.

He said that the money of the award is just a token of recognition and a way to respect the contribution of the employees to the organization.

Late Maniraj Debbarma was given Ati Vishist Bidyut Seva Award (posthumously) and it was highly appreciated by the Deputy Chief Minister as it recognizes his contribution to the Corporation, even after his death.

He said that a corporation cannot survive and grow without giving value to its employees. TSECL is such an essential corporation whose employees work 24 X 7. Why its employees will not be valued and honored that too with such a small financial implication.

To indicate the improvement of the quality of service rendering by TSECL, he referred the newly constructed Ambassa– Ganganagar transmission line that tripped only once in last three months where power supply was very much destabilized earlier. 

He also highlighted the importance of change in life saying that stagnation is equivalent to death. People may prefer to maintain status quo but it cannot run for long.

Besides these, he also stressed on good performance of all the employees of the corporation as TSECL has already increased the customers’ expectation through their good services.

He expected that TSECL will celebrate this event in big banner in coming years.

Programme ended with Vote of thanks delivered by Sarvjit Singh Dogra, the Director (Finance) of TSECL followed by the National Anthem of India.

The TSECL MD delivered the welcome address and highlighted the reforms taken place in the power sector over the past three years.
