President Droupadi Murmu coming to Tripura on Sept 9

Agartala, Aug 17: Maharaja Bir Bikram College in Agartala is going to celebrate its platinum jubilee from September 5 to 9 next through various events.
President of India Droupadi Murmu will join the closing ceremony on September 9, according to a government press release. Governor Satyadeo Narain Arya, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha will also remain present.
To make the MBB College’s platinum jubilee celebration successful, Education minister Ratanlal Nath on Wednesday held a preparatory meeting with the officials and others concerned.
Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Dipak Majumder, chairman of Tripura Tea Development Corporation Santosh Saha, former VC of Tripura University Dr. Arunoday Saha, secretary of Higher Education department Abhishek Singh, Director N.C. Sharma, Director of ICA department Ratan Biswas, former Principal of MBB College Prof. Mihir Deb, senior journalist Sanjib Deb and others were present in the preparatory meeting.
On September 5, a colourful rally commencing at 6:30 am will traverse through various roads in the capital city. Besides, an exhibition gallery of the college will also be inaugurated on the same day.
Sit and draw competition, Swachata Abhiyan, tree plantation drive, sweets and fruits distribution among the patients of cancer hospital, educational kits distribution to an orphanage, inter-college football tournament, cultural events, blood donation camp and seminar will be organized as part of the celebration.
A cultural event will be held where the artists from Kolkata will perform during the closing ceremony. (With inputs from Tripura Times)
