Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2022 inaugurated in Tripura

Agartala, Sept 07: Tripura Social Welfare and Social Education minister Santana Chakma on Wednesday asked the officials concerned to ensure that the beneficiaries living in remote areas of the state are not neglected from getting the benefits of Poshan Abhiyan.

Chakma, who inaugurated the state-level Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2022 at Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhawan, the initiative aims to bring those young children and adolescent girls from different parts of the country suffering from malnutrition under the nutrition program. Pregnant women and lactating mothers are also being brought under the nutrition program. 

She said, Rashtriya Poshan Maah is implemented every year across the country from September 1 to 30; it is being implemented in Tripura state as well. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the programme to make the country free from malnutrition. 

Chakma also said, children are the country’s future. Proper health of pregnant women and lactating mothers will ensure healthy and strong child. That is why the central government has launched such Abhiyan. 

She said, our work must not be limited in between just Poshan Maah and Poshan Abhiyan. During the implementation of the Abhiyan, we have to make sure that the beneficiaries living in remote areas of the state are not neglected from getting benefits of Poshan Abhiyan. 

Sabhadhipati of West Tripura Zilla Parishad Antara Sarkar Deb, Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Dipak Majumder, social worker Papia Dutta, Director of SW&SE department Dr. Sidharth Shiv Jaiswal and other dignitaries were present in the programme. 

A colourful rally was organized in Agartala to mark Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2022 inauguration. The rally started from Umakanta Academy premises, moved around different parts of the city and ended at Rabindra Bhawan premises.
