Rath Yatra: A Festival of Devotion and Tradition

Agartala, July 07: Rath Yatra, a festival of devotion and tradition dedicated to Lord Jagannath, was celebrated across Tripura on Sunday. Devotees across the state participated in the festivities with great enthusiasm and fervor. The Rath Yatra festival is a testament to the enduring faith and devotion of the people.

In Agartala, the festival commenced with the pulling of the sacred chariot on Sunday, bringing together devotees from all corners of the state in a grand celebration of faith and tradition.

The Rath Yatra festival involved the ceremonial procession of Lord Jagannath, along with his siblings Lord Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra, on beautifully decorated chariots. Pulled by the devotees, the Chariots traversed through the streets.

In Agartala, the ISKCON temple's Rath Yatra is a major highlight. This year, the event was inaugurated by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha at Purbasha premises. The inauguration ceremony was marked by vibrant rituals, setting a spiritual tone for the festival.

The ISKCON temple's Rath Yatra attracted a large number of devotees, including both locals and visitors. The festival is a colorful affair, with the chariots adorned with flowers, lights, and traditional artwork. 

On the occasion of Rath Yatra, the Chief Minister extended his heartfelt greetings to the people of Tripura. He expressed his wishes for the overall welfare and prosperity of the state and prayed to Lord Jagannath for his blessings. The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of such festivals in promoting unity and harmony among the people.

Minister Tinku Roy, BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharjee and other dignitaries were present in the inauguration of ISKCON Temple’s Rath Yatra Utsav.
