In a significant administrative move aimed at strengthening law enforcement efficiency, the Tripura government has ordered the transfer of 54 police officers across various police stations in the state.
The reshuffle included key postings in the capital city, with officer-in-charge (OC) positions changing hands at some of Agartala's most critical police stations—West Agartala, East Agartala, New Capital Complex (NCC), and Amtali.
Inspector Paritosh Das, OC of West Agartala PS, has been appointed to lead Amtali Police Station. Taking his place at West Agartala will be Inspector Rana Chatterjee, the outgoing OC of East Agartala PS, who is widely respected for his disciplined leadership and operational acumen.
Inspector Subrata Debnath, who earlier headed Jatrapur PS, has now been assigned to East Agartala PS, replacing Chatterjee.
Meanwhile, Inspector Himadri Sarkar has been transferred from Amtali to Sidhai Police Station as OC. Another notable shift included Inspector Prajit Malakar, previously serving as in-charge of New Capital Complex PS, who has now been formally appointed as OC of the same station.
Sources in the Police Headquarters indicated that the large-scale reshuffle was undertaken to inject new momentum into policing at the grassroots level and ensure rotation in sensitive posts where officers have served extended tenures.
The transfer list also featured several women officers and long-serving OCs, reflecting the administration’s focus on equitable deployment and performance-based rotation.
