RKS governing body meeting held at AGMC & GBP Hospital, Rs 28 cr budget approved

Agartala, May 13: An extended meeting of the Governing Body of the Rogi Kalyan Samiti (RKS), AGMC and GBP Hospital was held today at the seminar hall of Agartala Government Medical College (AGMC) and GBP Hospital.

The meeting was chaired by RKS Chairperson and MLA Minarani Sarkar.

Senior health officials, including Health Secretary Kiran Gitte, Director of Health Services Dr Debashree Debbarma, AGMC Principal Dr Tapan Majumdar and Medical Superintendent and HOD Dr Bidhan Goswami were present at the meeting. Councillors and other RKS members also attended.

During the meeting, the complete budget for the financial year 2026–27 was presented. The Governing Body unanimously approved a budget of around Rs 28 crore.

It was also decided that contractual employees working under the RKS will receive a 3 percent increase in their honorarium.

In addition, budget provisions were made for the procurement of modern medical equipment and strengthening diagnostic and testing facilities. 

The meeting also resolved to continue all ongoing patient welfare projects in the coming financial year.
