Rs 13.96 crore sanctioned for development of Brahmakunda area: Ratan Lal Nath

Agartala, Nov 04: Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath today described the Brahmakunda Mela as a historic and culturally significant event that symbolizes unity and harmony among people of diverse communities.
The Minister said this after inaugurating the three-day-long Brahmakunda Mela and Exhibition, which began today on the auspicious occasion of Ras Purnima.
In his inaugural address, Minister Nath described the Brahmakunda Mela as a historic and culturally significant event that symbolizes unity and harmony among people of diverse communities, religions, and traditions residing in the Brahmakunda area.
“This fair is not merely a religious gathering but a festival of humanity, harmony, and togetherness,” he said.
Highlighting the deep-rooted devotional culture of the region, the Minister remarked that Brahmakunda has become a sacred confluence of faith and emotion.
“On this divine full moon of Ras Purnima, I wish prosperity for everyone and invite all to enjoy the fair with joy and peace,” he added.
Minister Nath also announced that a sum of Rs. 13,96,80,825 has been sanctioned for the development of the Brahmakunda area.
He assured that beautification and modernization work of the fairground will begin soon to enhance its appeal as a tourist destination.
The inaugural ceremony was presided over by Rabindra Debbarma, Executive Member (Education) of TTAADC; Paschim Tripura Zilla Parishad’s Acting Sabhadhipati Bishwajit Shil; and Hejamara BAC Chairman Sunil Debbarma.
The fair was jointly organized by the Department of Information & Cultural Affairs, the Mohanpur Sub-Divisional Administration, and the Brahmakunda Mela Committee.
