Agartala, July 24: Tripura Police has issued a stern warning against spread of rumors, emphasizing that strict legal measures will be enforced against those who engage in such activities.

This warning followed a series of misleading social media posts by unidentified individuals, falsely urging all Tribals to vacate Agartala and other major towns in the state by July 26.

“This message is absolutely baseless, and there is no need to panic,” West Tripura district police mentioned in a social media post on Wednesday.

The message also said, “The situation is totally under control and enough force is deployed to tackle any kind of situation. Strict legal action will be taken against persons spreading such a message, please refrain from spreading false rumours.”
